It is easy to use and an extremely powerful weapon appropriate for any content. Having to desl with considerable movement speed and jump height changes mid gunfight is terrible. Still the best DPS exotic in the game. Clefthooves (and rhinos) are the best bodyguards, no pet can withstand more damage and receive more healing than them, if you want a non-exotic for your other specs the scalehides (kodos, thunder lizards and others) are a solid 2nd place Wormhusk is absolutely the best by far. The Dragons Shadow (DS henceforth) is ridiculously good rn. And since 2 is the minimum for any stat on legendary or exotic armor, the only way this could be worse is if those two stats were lower. There is no "best", but there are some top tier ones, depending on the activity and subclass. The Eagle Bearer can actually provide some insane survivability if you make use of the talent and can land your headshots, so I would argue it deserves a spot on the list too. Solar Hunter Tripmine focused build with Young Ahamkaras Spine exotic gauntlets. For this reason, I think Star Eater Scales are the best Solar Hunter option (could be replaced by Celestial Nighthawk if it's a boss more suited to Golden Gun). I do think Verglas Curve gets a bit of an edge due to the crystals working with fragments, as Ticuu's Divination doesn't use solar verbs toy knowledge. Phoenix protocol is amazing if you're into wells. ofc there are particular fragments and aspects for this to work, but it does pretty insane dps while having a really low best exotics for strand hunter Discussion The fan-run home of RLEsports on Reddit! Hey guys, I’m loving strand hunter, but am having some trouble figuring out the best endgame build. It's either the best or not so good. thanks! Great write-up! I'm a big fan of revenant hunter with its fast AOE control on the duskfields and the utility from shatterdive. It makes invis last a couple seconds longer, your melee charges faster when invis, plus it looks super nice Wormhusk is a bit dated imo, as the hunter dodge fulfills its role about ish 60%-80% of the value and against good players that health chunk that wormhusk gives isn't offering a better value than those 5 exotics I listed but it works and I would put it up as the potential number 6 spot but I limited the list to the top 5. Stasis hunter needs a good specific exotic. I'm assuming you meant Frostees, which is a really nice exotic for hunters, but if you're looking for Nightstalker specifically I really like using Graviton Forfeit, the exotic helmet. Run touch of winter and whisper of shards with dusk field grenade and breaking that one crystal then sprinting should give most of your grenade back It’s still good, just need to use four armor charges instead of three plus feed the void’s devour. Light 3. Exotics: A lot of people like to use Liar's Handshake for builds like this but I prefer Assassin's Cowl for its healing and invisibility since it's easy to die when you're close ranged with powerful enemies. At times I can have two vortex grenades going at a time in onslaught especially more often in the waves 30+. Assassin's Cowl has been good with Strand in the past too. Chromatic Fire: In the same nature as Bombardiers for Hunter, this subclass neutral exotic applies effects of the equipped subclass. With void, that means every precision kill weakens nearby targets. The rest are a little more niche, but some solid weapons there, just most aren't necessarily strong for the content you're trying to get into. Dragon Shadow got nerfed because the Dodge got nerfed. Posted by u/Responsible-Fig-3975 - No votes and 26 comments Wormhusk, stompees, dragon's shadow are all good neutral (not subclass specific) exotics. Assassin's Cowl is very underrated on multiple trees, invis+health regen on melees AND FINISHERS is very strong on any subclass. Orpheus rig is an obvious choice for running top tree void hunter in PVE. Yep I’ve been running sixth coyote with strand. Both feel so different in their functionality than a lot of other exotic weapons, even the other exotic bows. If you’re wanting to do stuff like GM’s I would recommend Omnioculus over anything else. I'm also just kind of summing up the important parts. Bakris is a dodge change and a boost for arc weapons which limits your choices At a very basic level, generally speaking, the best pet types are the following for the content you’re doing: PvE: Ferocious PvP: Cunning Leveling/Questing: Tenacity Different pet families have different special abilities so picking the best one depends on a lot of variables about the content that you’re doing. There are some pretty good ones per subclass but a fair amount of hunter exotics are very neutral in effect. Arc Hunter: if you're comfortable with high actions per minute run Arc Hunter with assassin's cowl with a one-two punch shoty and thunder lord or legend a acreus. It has interesting interactions with the new exotic Gl, causing 2 moths instead of 1 on a final blow, with 1 of them maybe being a void moth for a quick overshield. Phenomenal exotic that is diversely usable. so on broodweaver, you can cast super, grenade, two melees and repeat the last two steps until the buff runs out, and then proceed doing dps with actual weapons. Le Monarque - This is currently the best option for stunning overload champions when overload bow is available for the season. Oathkeepers- on top of what it already has, all bows get boxed breathing while this exotic is equipped Apotheosis got an insane buff to basicallly give you unlimited abilities for 5 seconds when you cast a super. General all purpose build with Frostees exotic legs. I know of liars X calibans being nutty for a melee build but haven’t heard of too many other good ones. Also good I'd go Tricksleeves and Jesters and Facade. Nightstalker - Orpheus Rig for Top-tree is nice for encounters with high add-density. You can get like half your charge back which is amazing. It's especially fun As a f2p player- since Shadowkeep, Beyond Light, and Witch Queen are free- which exotics from those expansions that are in the monument of lost light should I prioritize? Thinking I can get 4 exotic ciphers b4 Final Shape drops (best case) so which 4 are the most meta (PVP & PVE)? (Also, is Hawkmoon worth an exotic cipher as well?) The exotic has to be both somewhat a viable choice in both pve and pvp. Also it’s a blast physicsing things off the map to their death in place of actually killing them. Hunters have been struggling with PvE variety for a long time, and Void 3. . Foetracer seems like a good option. All posts and discussion should in someway relate to the game. Aeons and Frostees are always good Pvp it all depends on your play style, if you like to run and gun mask of bakris catches a lot of people off guard, if you find the cooldown for dodge is too long then stompee or the sixth coyote are good. Dodging slows nearby enemies, Bombardier's bomb hopefully k The best 120s right now are Sturm, True Prophecy, and The Steady Hand. I don’t think I’ve unequipped stompees for any substantial period of time other than celestial/star eater scales in a raid since they were made, they are a very solid general use exotic. OK, anyway, if you didn’t already know, the most popular Hunter PVP exotic in D2 history was recently nerfed this season - and by that, of course I mean Stompees. Destroy the crystal when you throw your grenade, sprint, and you'll get your grenade back in like 4 seconds. Really just depends on what you need it for. Otherwise Stompees, Shinobu’s Vow (imo), and Foetracer are all good for pvp (others are good/usable but those are the best) For PvE it’s basically Arcstrider - Raiden Flux Gunslinger - Celestial Nighthawk Nightstalker - Orpheus Rig The best and most versatile weapon at the monument is Witherhoard. But it has a very different play style. calibans hand provides free ignites to easily clear rooms, and YAG with tripmines allow you to grenade spam with your free recharging knives If you want an offensive play style and don’t necessarily care about being forced a void primary/heavy, Gyrfalcons is a really fun and entertaining exotic to use. Most of the daily driver exotics I have are from random playlist rewards and drops, or recent content rewards. So until Bungie makes some major changes to how armor stats work, these are by far the two worst stats you could get on a PvE-focused warlock exotic.
